Polygamy boomtime coming to a recession/depression near you? from Familyfocused's blog

I don't care which side of the political isle you are on (at least for the purposes of this blog post), we all know the economy is boned. If you don't know that it is going to get substantially worse and that we will be living through events like our great grandparents saw if not worse, then you need to pull your head out and look around. Seriously,  you should  e doing some prepping.

I see the fact that the economy, political divides, food insecurity and all the more chance of truly significant change being forced upon the world by globalist/elites/corporatists or weird mish mashes of communist, fascists and creepy as hell transhumanists all makes people scared for the future. The uncertainty in the world seems like a decent predictor for polygamy becoming a far more palettable choice for single women and couples moving forward. Safety in numbers, economic security and a larger base of support may start to seem pretty attractive.

I don't know about the rest of y'all but it sure looks to me (in early August of 2022) that the number of women coming to the site seeking or investigating plural marriage seems to going up significantly.

Yeah the number of established families looking for women may well be going up as well but I am not in as much of a position to notice. Maybe the site admin will see the post and comment about if I am right about the surge in single woman and if the same applies to families.

Won't pretend that even though I don't want the economy and the world to go to hell, that I am not happy to see more woman considering plural marriage in general terms. It is after all likely the oldest form of marriage and was the most prominent form until semi recently as the history of humans goes (genetic record tells us that there have been far more moms than dads).

I definitely see the religious tie in naturally. I tend to look at it in terms of cyclical cultural collapse and R vs K life history strategy. We have been in the period of most plenty in the worlds history or climbing the peak as it were for quite a while and this has given us the opportunity to live a more K strategy slow life history. With the turning of the historical wheel and more people thinking that we have a civil war coming here in the States over increasingly large political divides, a world War with nato on one side and a block formed by Russia and China on the other, a big recession if not full depression worse than any of or grandparents saw, food shortages and no doubt overt famine in various parts of the planet and increasingly high government authoritarianism in almost every country wishing to regulate and control every aspect of your life as they also take actions that result in more crime and less safety for everyone...yeah...I see some more R life history strategies of life fast and die young becoming more widespread. What does all of that wordy crap have to do with polygamy/plural marriage though? I see it as an adaptive response to cultural changes to more unstable periods. People seek safety and security of groups and communities. Given the deracinated nature of the modern world, lots and lots of people in western countries are not part of church groups, large families or civic organizations. So, given that polygamy is demonstrably the most prevalent type of marriage (as born out by the genetic record) through most of history, I would argue that it is literally an instinct to turn to polygamy for safety and security. That those who are a touch more in tune whether they realize the why or not, will be looking to the past for solutions to future challenges.I definitely see the religious tie in naturally. I hope that if we meet the right woman that we end up together because we are right for each other rather than being seen as some sort of haven of convenience. That being said, there is certainly a lot to be said for jumping on an established bandwagon and not having to work with someone to reinvent the wheel together. You can just slot into the routine and hopefully help to tweek it a bit here and there.I hope that if we meet the right woman that we end up together because we are right for each other rather than being seen as some sort of haven of convenience. Agreed. And by the time Isaiah 4:1 happens - things will have gotten VERY ugly (beyond comprehension for any who don't know what I'm talking about, certainly.) I've been doing radio for over 20 years at this point, and have seen the Biggest Fiat Bubble in History building for at least that long. Now there's a Fourth Reich being built to force the "Great Reset" that inevitably follows. (And, for those with 'eyes to see' - it's also known as the Mark of the Beast. Or, THE CBDC.)Agreed. I hope most of the people here are putting back some shelf stable food. I get that most people are not paying attention and will think blah blah conspiracy theory crazy yadda yadda. Insert shrug. I am not going to try convincing anyone that we are heading for at very minimum shortages and economic issues a good amount worse than the 08 recession. If people are not willing to keep up with current events then it is not my job to try to convince them to take precautions to ensure their and their family's future.I hope most of the people here are putting back some shelf stable food.
